EP:241 | Learning from Coyotes with Torry Cook
This week we’re joined in studio by World Champion Coyote caller Torry Cook of Arkansas. Torry, an obsessed hunter, has raised multiple coyote pup litters through the years in order to learn from them. You might wonder if raising pups has made him soft hearted towards them? Trust us, it hasn’t. It was totally a play to get knowledge and use it against them. It’s fascinating to hear him explain what he’s learned and how he applies that knowledge in terms of behavior and understanding vocalizations to improve his game. This was one of the most interesting discussions we have experienced. Listen, Learn and Enjoy.

EP:239 | A Shark Discussion with Tom Rowland
Просмотров 234День назад
This week we have saltwater expert Tom Rowland on to discuss sharks and how they are affecting fishing. It seems social media is full of videos of sharks attacking many different species of hooked fish. It’s really sad to see a big tarpon or any other fish get targeted. Is it the way we fish that is causing this? Are they conditioned to a fisherman’s habits? Is there a solution? Are there more ...

WHY would anyone want to KILL a TREE on a planet that is so polluted, overpopulated, with raging wild fires due to climate change??!! Only EVIL people kill trees!
another great episode guys, need more of these predator episodes and how to manage them.
That's really cool
Torry passes soo much info here that even the newest hunter, all the way up to the most experienced hunter, or any wildlife enthusiasts/biologist could learn soo much from!! This is pure gold as usual for that Arkansas Hardcracker!! Truly thankful to have had the chance to meet and stay with this man and his family. Running these summertime shotgun stands exactly how he talks about running them, on his home turf was just a kicker!! 🤙💪
I had two Maremma's I got from Italy, that protected by chickens (think Great Pyraneese) and they are not the breed to be trained either, as far as commands were. You could keep on and one and sometimes they might get the message here and there, but mostly they will just look at you like " You were serious about that?" But they will protect you and anything in their relational farm family. I had one that would go out at night and kill coyotes on his own
Torry is cool
Another great podcast gentleman! I love nature and learning, this is the place to be.
Thank you!
check out his RUclips page MFK GameCalls / @tccustomcalls
Is there a vid of him showing his technique for that call? That sounded so real
That is awsome
Torry and his wife are great people . I've followed MFK for last few years . The daytime techniques and information have put coyotes within 10 yds . Customer service is top notch . Called once to check on an order . Got so into the conversation about " how you doing today " , that I almost forgot why I called . Genuinely down to earth , good people .
He was a great guest. Very informative
Greatly increased my respect for the coyote and changing perspective on these very interesting creatures.
This is super informative, listen to this show every week and always learn something new. You all sure do pick some great guest to be on the podcast.
Thank you sir!
For a less expensive method to help if you get exposed to poison ivy - try Fast Orange hand cleaner with pumice. Or any grease breaking hand cleaner with pumice. You don't have to rub really hard, just be very thorough.
Can i have one as a traveling nomad? If im backpacking down the Appalachian with one on my back we could knock the crows that follows us down and eat those? Doing it live with superchat questions would be good too
Not sure on that one but you would be the coolest backpacker on the trail!
really cool episode!!!
Thank you!
Great Stuff!
Oh the irony of this video!! when settlers first came to America there were endless stands of incredible trees for the eyes to behold .. miles and miles of old growth forest's all managed by nature ..Google Tom Wessels
Overpopulation? Where have people said "overpopulation"? Did I miss where they discuss how humans kill millions of sharks a year? Scientists are worried about the number of sharks still alive, and no species on sharks would be considered "overpopulated!"
Awesome podcast, guys!
Thanks!
This episode especially resonated with me. The top predator in my backyard is a Sharp-shinned hawk. I had Coon from West Point, MS tattoo one on me a few years ago 😅 #accipiter
yall been putting out some good podcasts lately, keep em coming!
This is about how to get rid of the other effects of poison ivy
VC gonna be like the BC
DO has been robbed repeatedly because of a big money sponsor. Trash
Rubens little headbobs❤
Use use that Tecnu first, than Ivarest topically until all the rash is gone. I’ve had to go to the doctor before, and got a steroid shot, bc i didn’t have those products then.
Virginia taxidermy I listen to the podcast in my shop. I love the many different topics. You never know what you’re going to learn. Its like Christmas with every new episode I love the information guys. Ive been an outdoorsman for 38 years and a taxidermist for 23. Still learning and your podcast is very informative. Love what yall are doing keep it up
My favorite podcast by far, as long as yall make em im gonna be watching em
I can’t keep the wild hogs from destroying my farm. They root up every square inch of soil searching for nut grass tubers, so chuff is a hard no for me because of hogs. I put hunting pressure in 1 area and they move to the other side. Farm is only 80 acres, so trapping hasn’t been overly successful, new one show up faster than you can get them out of the trap.😀
Have you tried asking people to come hunt your property? You could try charging a few bucks too. Seems like hog hunting is popular where you can do it
I needed this im gonna be planting for the first time this year. My daughter is old enough to go now so I'm gonna try to make a place to increase her chances
You will not regret it
I like listening to this guy.
Always! He was a great guest.
Ppl be happy cmon
Im a young hunter and love all the tips and wisdom in this podcast and i will definitely be using them to better the wildlife and habitat on our land.
Thank you!
These guest I fish with all the time. Especially Ted he will take all the fish I don’t want
The silent tree killer!!! 🤧
I have a stormy kromer gamekeeper cap and want to get some more. Maybe a nice vest. Think i have my fiance talked in to letting me wear camo for our wedding
C'mon all gamekeepers and fans of the show. Everyone hit the like button and drop a comment to help the algorithm spread this gem of a podcast
What he said! 👆
That liquid name please sir
$38? Just mix dish soap 1:4 with mineral spirits or turpentine. Cut your fingernails and clean your nails with a it and a nail brush. In the shower or sink, start close to the core of your body washing to the tips your fingers/toes (depending where you might have been exposed). I keep a bottle near my kitchen sink and in the shower.
I am a chemist btw
We bagging less birds on public land, not because there's less birds but because there was so many "tiktok turkey hunters" driving all the way into where they hunting getting out calling making all kinds racket I'm all for people getting into hunting but my goodness use some common sense
This was an awesome one!
Big old trees close to your houses, they do not only damage your houses and garages’ floors, but they are places for snakes, hidden cameras, and hiding intruders!
all chemical fish not healthy to eat
Great podcast!
This was a great topic, thank’s guys.
I wanna know if she has crappie in there? I swear I saw one in there live well.. that is the worst thing to have in a pond trying to grow big fish.. the baby eater dressed in scales
A few months ago she invited a guy from SW Louisiana to go there and thin out the crappie and he had a blast. He brought crawfish and shrimp and cooked up a seafood feast.
Is this method works on Prosopis juliflora trees
Got a dandelion problem?? Any suggestions???
Some a55hole around here 10-15yrs ago was catching hogs and releasing them around here now we're over ran with them, i still get on birds but I gotta walk 1500yrds one way, that makes it hard on taking my daughter i don't want to drag her up and over the hills, through thick patch she'd be miserable and it's ready to go b4 we get in to where we can just start hunting
